Boischatel is a small, independent municipality directly bordering Quebec City, right at the eastern edge of the Beauport borough. The territory runs mainly along Route 138 (avenue Royale), with residential development on both the north and south sides of that road.
Recent residential growth. Boischatel has seen notable population growth over the past 15-20 years, drawing middle-class families who want to combine easy access to Quebec City (about 15 minutes away) with a quieter setting. The result: a lot of recent residential construction (2005-2020) — semi-detached homes and modern single-family houses with large basements.
Typical job profile. Basement and garage cleanouts dominate our work here. Nearly every home in Boischatel has a finished or semi-finished basement, often used as extra storage. The population skews young-to-middle-aged families (35-55), with plenty of school-age and teenage kids. Typical accumulation: childhood toys that have become obsolete, assorted sports equipment, and surplus from bulk buying.
A few older homes near avenue Royale. The historic heart of Boischatel along avenue Royale includes some older buildings (19th to early 20th century).
