Sillery, 12,000 residents, has a high average age. Many owners moved in during the 1970s-1990s and are now approaching 75-85. This demographic strongly shapes our interventions here.
Estates and transitions are our bread and butter. More than half our Sillery calls are either: (1) a post-death cleanout of an aging owner, or (2) emptying a home before moving to a senior residence or with family. These jobs need a different approach than our express pickups — we take time, sort with family, document. Our estate service is built for this.
Homes are big, volumes are big. Sillery residences (between the cliff and chemin Saint-Louis, around rue Maguire) are typically 2,500-5,000 sqft single-family homes with basement, attic, garage. Valuables to identify. Unlike other neighbourhoods, Sillery homes often contain antique furniture, artwork, serious book collections, silverware. Our protocol: nothing leaves without family validation, and we can recommend appraisers and specialty auction houses (Dezinc, Iégor) before we take anything.
Jardins Mérici and other towers. Many long-time Sillery residents end their years at Jardins Mérici (emblematic towers) or Manoir Ronsard. Clearing an apartment in these residences requires coordinating with the concierge (elevator windows, common carpet protection). We handle it.
Parking. Wide residential streets, easy parking. Elevator booking 24-48h ahead for towers — we coordinate.
The riverside terraces. Sillery’s oldest estates sit on the terraces stepping down toward the river, where streets like chemin du Foulon and the côte de Sillery drop sharply below chemin Saint-Louis. These homes were built for the view, not for moving trucks: long descending driveways, stone garden walls and walkways that wind down through mature oaks and maples. When the piece is a marble-topped buffet or a cast-iron radiator, we bring extra crew and dollies and plan the uphill carry to the truck before we lift.
