L’Ancienne-Lorette is a small, independent city of about 17,000 residents, completely enclaved within Quebec City’s territory, right next to Jean-Lesage Airport. It’s administratively separate from Quebec City, but geographically sits at the centre of our service area — so we get there just as fast as anywhere else in town. From $99.

Junk removal in L’Ancienne-Lorette, what to know

L’Ancienne-Lorette is an administrative oddity: it’s one of the few municipalities that refused to merge with Quebec City in 2002, then voted to de-merge in 2006. The result is an independent city of 17,000 residents, completely surrounded by Quebec City’s territory (mainly the Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge borough). For us, none of that changes anything — we go there at the same price as everywhere else.

Mature, stable housing stock. The city was built out mainly between the 1960s and 1990s. The typical profile: a 1970s-80s bungalow or cottage with a single or double garage, a finished basement, and a standard suburban lot. Owners are often the original buyers (who bought new), now typically 65 to 85 years old.

Frequent estate cleanouts and transitions. Like Charlesbourg or Sainte-Foy, L’Ancienne-Lorette’s aging population means we regularly handle estate cleanouts and moves into senior residences. These homes have accumulated 40 years of belongings — full basements, cluttered garages, and grown children’s furniture that was never picked up.

Airport proximity. Some addresses sit very close to the airport and experience near-constant air traffic. It doesn’t affect our work logistically, but it’s worth noting for clients taking the quote call by phone — we sometimes need to call back if a plane passes overhead mid-conversation.

Excellent road access. Close to the Autoroute Jean-Lesage / Autoroute Duplessis interchange. Travel time from our warehouse to L’Ancienne-Lorette is typically 15-20 minutes.

Limited local services. The city has few municipal services of its own (a shared ecocentre with Quebec City, coordinated waste collection). Residents generally rely on Quebec City’s infrastructure. Our cleanouts fit into that same system — we bring items to the same ecocentres and donation organizations we use for the rest of our customers.
