Stoneham is the mountain village north of Quebec City, known for its ski resort and chalets. Population 9,500, a mix of year-round homes and recreational cottages. It’s a large territory, and some addresses are tucked away. We make the trip for pickups worth a quarter truckload or more. From $99 (a travel fee may apply depending on distance — we’ll confirm on the phone).
Junk removal in Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury, what to know
Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury sits just north of Quebec City, about 20-30 minutes from our main bases depending on the exact address. The municipality stretches along route 175 (autoroute Laurentienne) toward Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier. It’s the only one of our areas where a mountain, semi-rural character dominates.
Two different types of addresses.
Year-round homes. Concentrated mainly in the central village of Stoneham (around the ski resort) and along the main roads. Newer single-family houses (many built after 1990), owned by middle-aged families who work in Quebec City. Standard suburban-style cleanouts — basements, garages, family transitions.
Chalets and secondary residences. Scattered across the territory, often on private streets or less formal access roads. These properties sometimes require particular logistics: winter access isn’t always straightforward, addresses need to be confirmed by GPS, and we sometimes need to coordinate with neighbours or private road managers. We show up prepared.
Real winters. Stoneham gets significantly more snow than Quebec City. Our winter jobs sometimes require a minimum of snow clearing on the access route and loading area beforehand. We can do a quick cleanup on arrival with our shovels, but for heavier accumulation, we prefer the access to be cleared first.
Typical projects. Clearing out chalets that are changing owners or being converted to short-term rentals (Airbnb). Pickups of old 70s-80s furniture that owners are replacing with something newer. Occasional cleanouts of year-round homes (standard suburban type).
Travel fee. This is the only one of our areas where, depending on the exact distance and the volume involved, we may add a modest travel fee ($20-50) for small, far-off pickups. Always mentioned on the phone before the quote is confirmed — never a surprise.
